HPAC (Health Professional Assessment Consultancy) is a consortium of experts
in health professions education who undertake consultancies in a number of areas, especially
assessment and examinations at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
We offer advice on design and implementation of systems of quality assurance, for whole programmes of healthcare education at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as specific targeted areas such as assessment.
In 2016, HPAC were commissioned by the General Medical Council of the UK to provide expert advice on identifying key principles for consistency and reliability in curricula and assessment frameworks. This piece of work informed the GMC's SCAR (Standards in Curriculum and Assessment Review), and the publication in May 2017, of their document "Excellence by design: standards for postgraduate curricula"
