Emerita Professor Trudie E Roberts
BSc, MBChB, PhD, FRCP(Lond), FRCPGlas, FHEA, HonFAoME, FAMEE, NTF – Leeds Institute of Medical Education (University of Leeds), UK

Emerita Professor Roberts graduated in medicine from Manchester. In 2000 she was appointed Professor of Medical Education at the University of Leeds and was awarded a National Teaching Fellowship in 2006. Emerita Professor Roberts has served as a council member of the GMC and RCP London and Chair of the Association for the Study of Medical Education and also previously a Censor for the RCP London. She was President of the Association for Medical Education in Europe until August 2019 was an education board member for the RCPS Glasgow.

Emerita Professor Roberts has been involved in technology and learning at the School of Medicine at Leeds since 2007 and the ALPS CETL project. She is particularly interested in the personalisation of education and the use of student learning analytics to support this. Emerita Professor Roberts was awarded the 2017 Asia Pacific Conference MILES Award for her contributions to medical education and academic medicine and an honorary doctorate in Medical Education by the International Medical University in Kuala Lumpur. In 2019 she was part of the Topol review on the educational implications of the increasing influence of digital technologies on healthcare delivery. In June 2022 she was awarded a Doctores Honoris Causa University of Helsinki Finland and in August 2022 she was given a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Association for Medical Education in Europe.

She is married to a surgeon, has two children and still dreams of owning a Subaru WRX
